Welcome to today's thread - #CrossChannelRail Day 15 - 31 March - London
On the agenda today:
Meetings with Eurostar, Getlink and Gemini
No map as I’m not going anywhere
Today‘s #CrossChannelRail news: ORR says there is capacity at Temple Mills https://orr-newsroom.prgloo.com/news/rail-regulator-says-some-capacity-can-be-made-available-at-eurostar-depot
Been racing around London on my bike this morning. Lots learned and we‘re now at an important point - someone has to order some #CrossChannelRail trains now. There’s no other serious unknown risk.
There will be a live stream of the #CrossChannelRail event in London - on YouTube here https://youtube.com/@jonworth?si=j31prtGsoNxZbkut then Live. From c. 1815 BST / 1915 CEST

Day was too busy to post much! All being well there’ll be more tomorrow!
@jon and luckily the people with sandwiches and bottles have decided to take a seat instead of making me hungry :)
@jon can you do anything about the audio?
@quixoticgeek He's really quiet, I cannot shout at him
@jon ah. Here's hoping other speakers are clearer
@quixoticgeek I will be for sure!
@jon good luck!
@jon
I was a bit disappointed that the elephant in the network was not mentioned this evening. There where no mention (except tangentially by Mr. Dennis) of the SNCF, and it's management of the current situation...
@jon I agree that frequent service to a smaller number of hubs is better than infrequent more sprawling service, but would argue that Paris is a poor one (ditto London to perhaps a slightly lesser extent), since depending where you’re going you may need to allow an hour to cross the city to change trains.
On the other hand, I’d like a direct Barcelona service, so my opinions are a bit warped.
@jon Really interesting live stream. You were very clear but some others hard to hear.
